turning over dormant engine
I'm almost ready to try and start up the engine I had built for my ghia. It hasnt been turned over in months. What can I do to make it easier on the engine? Should I hand crank it a few times, will that circulate some oil before I turn the key?

Pull plugs out.
squirt a little oil in cyls if desired.
Crank with starter till oil press builds.
Having plugs out means there will be virtually
no load on the bearings.
Do check for mice nests in the fan inlet and as much of the
cyl/head cooling fins as you can see.
