Can anyone point me to a manual valve body (or modifications to the stock valve body) for a Vanagon auto? No transbrake is needed, as this is an off-road car.

well looks like i am in luck i have found a shop that can take care of the 003 for me they are going to rebuild it trans and diff in trade for my 091 and maybe a lil in cash but it turns out this guy is the one who was building the transmissions for the pizzo bros back in the day and he really know his stuff so i should be all set up now he knows what it is going into and is going to build it accordingly including a custom converter

I'm surprised, didn't see it mentioned, that nobody looked at the 60's-70's Toronado/Eldorado th400's. 455-472ci FWD cars.

I searched and thought I had posted this before. Now I did not find it.
It is for me the start of why I chose the 090 bus box.
Friend of mine wanted to buy the car.
A family came in between (20 years) and the same guy bought the Líl Dude altered.
Anyway, look at this footage and look at the few seconds when the car is being stalled at against the barkes (no transbrake on this car and no manual valve body), the rpm goes up, the boost jumps to 30 psi and the engine goes through two shift in to third.

it's been a while since I have been on here. Just checking to see what's going on. Wishing all my VW friends the best in all they do. here is a video of my 1952 vw split window drag car with a vanagon automatic. I did have a turbo on it but took it all off, and ran the engine NA . A lot slower, but still fun.

I'm glad you still post to this thread, I have a couple of questions.

For the 930 flanges, did you completely fabricate from new, or weld flat plate to the stock flanges to adapt the bolt pattern?

I am not sure if you mean me or Miller?
Anyway, I have done 3" spacers that had countersunk 12,9 high tensile bolts to the stub to fit.
Then I have also done adaptors.
The good thing with adaptorplates is that the 930 bolt pattern goes right in the "split line" of the original VW stub flange and that automatically locks the adaptor apart from the welds.
On my last beetle though, I simply bought new 930 stubs.
As for the 090 trans inside flanges, Dave Folts put 930 on it from the beginning and I think you can buy them outright.

Rohan Keylock in Australia.

Carburated draw through turbo.
Automatic and manual shifting.
No transbrake but rather starting against the brakes.
