Cam Shaft selection

Post by dantuers »

Hello all, Need a suggestion for a cam?

I purchased a 110 engle years ago thinking I wanted a mild motor. Since then I have gone to a bubble top EMPI case, 78mm crank, 90.5 cima forged and have done extensive porting work on my SCAT 44 x 37.5 heads. I will be running 44 hpmx carbs and need a hint on cam choice with 1.4 rockers and 10.5 comp. ratio. Another ? I have is what the head cc should be and deck height to work with a cam that will give me great street power.

Hi Dantuers,

Everybody will have a different opinion on this, but since you did specify street use ... and remember, ratio rockers depend on the cam.

Engle 120 (conservative) Easy to live with.

SCAT C95 (heavy street car, teriffic mid range and top end power) Mustang killer, reasonable idle.

W120 is for 1:25's
FK 8 would be good with his 1:4' rockers

With those valves and 10.5:1 comp; fk-10, and get some bigger vents or 48's down the road. I know it's an old post but ran across it searching.
