Re: Type1 tin differences
A few of the smaller pieces are interchangeable, but the shroud and overcylinder tin are different. Genuine DP o'cyl tin includes an integral deflector at the outboard end of the air inlet, missing from some aftermarket tin.
The DP shroud is wider where the fan resides (because the DP fan is wider) and has provision for the "doghouse" cooler. OEM shrouds have vanes inside to direct/distribute air evenly to the left side; these too are absent in some aftermarket shrouds, and on some that do have them they're poorly mounted and tend to work loose.
Safest approach IMO is to stick with all OEM parts if at all possible.

Re: Type1 tin differences
So the shopping list is
Dog house fan shroud oe if possible
All the cooling tin and a dog house oil cooler adapter+cooler.
Do i need the cyl head tin? is that different on the dog house cooling?

While it is possible to snip out SP o'cylinder tin so it'll fit onto DP heads, it's nowhere near as good as the OEM tin - as with many of the aftermarket DP o'cylinder parts, you'd be missing the the internal deflector pieces.

Also depending on your era bus, the front tin (over the trans) can somewhat harder to find to match the dog house dump.
Yeah some may call it overkill, but you can't have too much overkill.

Yes, the only Bus sold in the US market with a Type I 1600DP was the 1971...so it's the only one with a window above #3 cylinder for the doghouse oilcooler exhaust port. However, the `68-`79 15/1600 SP front tin can be cut out to accommodate it.
