I layed 4 layers of fiberglass on my old dash. I then smoothed it out w/bondo &
had it upholstered.

That looks great. Is it removable as one piece or permanent?

I glassed a 1/4" bolt( that had a washer for the head) in 4" from both ends - The dash pad can be remover by removing 2 nuts.....It took several days to make.

Re: new dash pad-home made
Looks cool, had to do the same thing on mine because the original dash was so brittle. I covered mine in tweed and added a gauge pod in the center.
