what to do to prevent my steering shaft from moving

Post by weldvair »

i have a 1971 Ghia that has a steering column that moves around. I called KGP&R & ordered a
new bearing. It did not help........it looks like I need a bushing to go over the steering shaft
but, It is not used in a 1971.

i made a bushing out of 20 gauge sheet metal but, I need some way of holding it in place
it looks like one made out of 18 gauge might be better.

i do not know what to do - any suggestions.....Don

I have a '71 also. I didn't know of the difference.

There is a fair amount of discussion on this problem on the web but I couldn't find another video on this specifically.
