If you must have a porsche 914 pressure sensor.....which is not a unique Porsche part ...it is 100% identical to the 1.7L 411/412 sensor, inside, outside and in calibration......and made on the same assembly line....and you want it NOS so you "might" not have to adjust it .....IF....your engine is NOS and identical in every way from the day it left the factory....then a great many of the standard Porsche idiots who are out their (Doctors, Lawyers, accountants etc. who collect a car because itsays "Porsche" and do none of their own work and want it all perfect down to the part #)......those are the types who might pay...$800 for a part worth $350 max when new. Did you see the wagen got up to over 12K but didn't meet reserve so it's relisted..
Also I think those people want the 800 buck MPS since they want a all original car and have the bucks and must not know there is a Porsche place that rebuild MPS....I don't know if it sold or the listing just ended?? I guess if you have the money and can't find a solution you might think about it vs carbs?

Boy I have to say, some folks really overestimate the Value of a type 4. I mean obviously they are worth more to some people then others, and you can't fault someone for trying to find a person crazy enough to spend alot of money on a low resale value car. Bottom line is that currently ( and for the past 6-7 years) most buyers guides rate a 411-412 as being worth rough 6000-6500 tops in condition one. which means it may not be concours but it had better be pretty darn close, in that it needs no repairs, and shows no flaws paint or otherwise, but can still be considered a driver. Personally I can say that I have rarely seen 411-412 in what I would consider condition one. It is unfortunate, I would love to see the value of type 4's go up, but as it stands, I know I would never be able to sell mine and get any where near out of it what I put into it. I guess you just gotta love the type 4, because it sure is not an investment vehicle.

I have to add, this car is as much condition one as any I have seen. But I agree with ray that it definately appears to be a good restoration. the dash is cracked, the front carpet appears less worn then the rear, the front seats, I think, appear to have been reaphostered at some point, notice that the pleating does not match the rears. But as for the antenna hole, it never had a radio fitted and therefore would have only a rubber plug put in the hole, as mine originally had the same. and yeah I don't see any heater exhaust, and the fender gaps are off. I also don't see how an automatic can be considered rare, as to my knowledge most were automatic, the standard is far more rare. all the same a fine example, but not worth the asking price by a long shot.

It's hard to say, but a type 4 isn't worth (much) money. Taxation value is maybe highBoy I have to say, some folks really overestimate the Value of a type 4
because of the fact that there aren't many left, but just try to sell one...
Only reason that part prices are so high is that there isn't many left (in good condition),
besides headlights of the first modelyear, some general (motor) parts and other stuf.
Of course any car can be worth much for the owner, but that is not a money value.
Most expensive type 4 I've seen was a golden 412 (no, not real gold, you stupids ),
for the price of 10.000 euro's (about 13500 dollar). From pictures it looks "the same" in
quality, but I haven't got the sharp eyes and knowledge of Ray.
I guess you are american because from my (european) point of view he is rightI also don't see how an automatic can be considered rare, as to my knowledge most were automatic

Re: Wow super nice wagen on Ebayers!!!!!!
I was browsing through the most recent issue of HMN (hemmings motor news) and saw this:
It appears to be the same car from the auction site.
The auction was WWG, if i remember correctly.
Note that is says the auto tranny is special order... I believe this is a US car so I doubt that.
Anyways, I wonder who the new owner is!
