I'm building an IRS Beach Buggy (LWB GT)and plan on fitting 33" tall rear tyres. I am concerned about over gearing the buggy. I plan to use a fairly standard 1600 engine.
I have a gearbox from the donor car "1302s" which had a 1600 engine. I believe the gearbox has the intermediate "Final drive" ie- not as tall as the 1303s's but not as low as the standard 1300.
Can any one suggest a method how i can calculate the gearing taking into account the rolling circumference of the tyres combined with the gearbox "final Drive"
I'm not looking for a particularly high top speed, but would like good acceleration.
