The fabrication has begun...

The number one and two pipes will be routed around the sump at the back(pulley side)

I haven't got much done because it was a party last night... and now is one more :D

This is all you get for now ;)

Your idea is right, but your collector tapers too fast. You will create reversion and excessive back pressure. Shallow up the angle where it comes together. http://home.mindspring.com/~tooltime1/Index.html I think it is listed at the bottom of the custom fabrication page. That is a header I did for another turbo car. THe weird header is for a formula car it was not a very good design but it was done in a hurry. The rams horn manifold is the one I am referring to.

Actually, this one shows the collector a little better.

Sorry, I can't figure out how to put a picture up here without having a URL for it. If you look at the website I listed look at the first header shown in the custom fabrication section of Current Projects. See how the collector tapers at a much less abrupt angle?

Using that heavy pipe would definately be the ticket for making the "perfect" collector, and it's very easy to weld too.
(Not as perfect as those Burn$ units though...)
Addendum to Newtons first law:
zero vehicles on jackstands, square gets a fresh 090 and 1911, cabby gets a blower.
EZ3.6 Vanagon after that.(mounted, needs everything finished) then Creamsicle.

well.. you need alot of pipe.. and using weldels makes it really heavy.. (I've tried  )

Mine was made as an experimental piece, it will get re-done in stainless. You should be running at least 16Ga tubing with some sort of Ceramic coating otherwise the heat will kill the steel tubing in short order.
Yes Weld Els are heavy but they keep heat in the pipes and keep exhaust gas velocity up. For a short manifold like the one I built they are perfect for your application you are better off with stainless.
