Re: 911 heads
Hello Wally,
Money....I have a EFI and buying a new one is a lot of money.
If I am not wrong I can connect my Innovative LM1 to give wideband feedback to the EXP48. Myabe I am wrong but that is at least what I think.
When I used it last I only had a narrow band input.
By the way, it is not just a nice "flange"....it is Burns collector and it cost me almost...... well too much.

Later versions of the EXP48 can take a wideband input, not all of them.Frallan wrote:Hello Wally,

The problem is that it doesn't do closed loop fuelling, and has little to none logging facility. The LM1 can take logs, but it is difficult to relate the information unless you run the ECU in MAP mode. The EXP48 software doesn't have a lot of filtering on the MAP input so the driveability when cruising is poor (the fuelling is constantly changing).
A friend had the same setup but has bought a S60 (found at a good price new on ebay) to replace the EXP48 which he will sell.

Re: 911 heads
Hi all,
My name is Marnix from The Netherlands. Have a pristine 1303S Gelb-Schwarzer Renner (www.gsrenner.nl) with a type 4 2.0 (around 144 hp).
I am investigating building a type 4 2.0 based on EFI and turbo, shooting for everything around 200+.
My dilemma:
I have located a type 1 with 911 OHC-cams, etc. Asking price is on the high side, but if I could recondition it for not too much dollars...it might be the way to go.
What do you reckon?
Would love to see some more on the OHC-chapter anyway.
Cheers,
Marnix

Re: 911 heads
I am re-viving my engine. Goes in to my dragster. New large Screw/Whipple on top. DTA S60 injection. E85 fuel.
Tekken in Norway has bought an ex rallycross 4WD and 911 heads/Kugelfischer injection/turbo. He intends to renovate.
German/Austrian engines keep popping up on some forums. No newly built, as far as I know.

Re: 911 heads
You wish to see a lot of cool engines? ...and of course several of them are with 911 heads. Now you have to enjoy 14 pages of them. Not at work. This will take some time but such a nice thread.

Re: 911 heads
Great thread! Stuff bordering on the ridiculous. Better than naked lady pics.
Page 2 has a motor with carbon fiber horizontal fan housing somebody must have made. Unbelievable.
Page 5 has a motor with 2 dizzys. Who thinks of this stuff?
Sweet dreams......

Re: 911 heads
IIRC the /6 cams are cut, bored out for coupling shaft ,and drilled/pinned at the proper index.
I dangerously assume some green (bushing) Locktite is also involved to prevent any relative motion.

Addendum to Newtons first law:
zero vehicles on jackstands, square gets a fresh 090 and 1911, cabby gets a blower.
EZ3.6 Vanagon after that.(mounted, needs everything finished) then Creamsicle.

I love that solution and it works very well, as proven by the guys in UK.
http://enem.se/ib.asp is the Swedish company that I think still has some in house experience.
Try them .....
