Your oil may be too thick. Check my post I just put in today about CHT and oil pressure issue. I lowered my freeway CHT by 50 degrees and lowered the oil temp and improved performance by switching from 20w-50 oil to a Rotella T6 5w-40. Major drop in oil and CHT. There are a few threads here about it and I wouldn't have believed it if I didn't see it for myself.

Thanks for the info - I’ll check it out!

I think I found my source of heating- the t25 waterboxer dizzy and it’s advance curve:

The red curves are upper and lower limits for the 1.9 wasserboxer dizzy, orange and blue are the bounding curves for the stock type 4 dizzy.
Bus was running too retarded and now I’ve fitted a CU engine dizzy it’s running so much better - 30 miles an hour in 4th easy. Hoping fuel consumption drops.

I did also fit an Empi twin quiet pack (removed the home brew turbo muffler) and it’s noticeably less powerful!! More exhaust changes on the cards.... still it drives well, cool and quiet!!

Temps around town now82c up to 90c climbing.
