new member with question?

My name is Jacques(jack) 55yo from montreal Canada
I buy a Bay bus 1978 type 2 with 1800cc 1975 injection last september
I'M now on the list to rebuilt the engine
can you tell me if i buy new connecting rod do i have to balance them?

Yes. They should be balanced rod to rod and end to end for each rod. Ray

Want to find the best stock camshaft for 1800cc 1975?
and for this engine is it stock solid lifter?
can go to see because it's winter here
i'm gonna drop the engine next spring

... and do the pistons. Do a search on the subject and you will get a lot of different answers but basically yes, to get the best performance and engine life out of even a stock build using stock parts it is probably worth the time and effort to balance the whole rotating assembly. Balancing takes the unevenness out of the mix. There are some videos on this including an at home balancing video which I did not look at.
