Hi all, as above.
Can I use a wasserboxer 228mm flywheel with a CP code gearbox and a type 4 W code engine. Engine has bit of a hotter cam and bigger B+P with 2.0 heads. 1911CC.
If I can, is it a straight bolt up, no mods. Bolt and go.
Many thank, Jon

Well I don't know about the direct bolt up of a water boxer flywheel , but I do know if it does bolt up you have to check that it clears the Bellhousing. I know some 228 T-4 flywheels that work fine after the bellhousing was clearance with a hand grinder.

Thanks for the reply, very helpful. The CP gearbox is from a late bay 2.0 so in theory should be ok.

From what I can gather the wasser early 215mm flywheel is functionally interchangeable with the 1.8l, and the late wasser 228mm is with the bus 2.0l.
FWIW I use an early in a conversion with no issues.

Yeah some may call it overkill, but you can't have too much overkill.
