Anyone sell one thinking about converting l-jet to dual 40idfs.
I have tall manfifold set for t4 but could buy something elseis this on from Jake for his DTM or will it work on my pancake cooling?

Looks like Charles is selling a CB Hexbar? I'm surprised...

Looks absolutely great, I was delighted with the nice beefy parts when I installed mine...

Doesn't work properly, has inherent issues with too much mass and vibration.
Avoid at all costs, even if its free.

The CB air cleaners are sorta OK, see if you can find oval dryflow / k&N dry filter elements, the gauze filters pass rocks.
(OK, silica fines mostly, but they are horrible as actual filters)

Don't mess around, with the linkage, cry once...buy a Synclink.
Sort of born here on the STF.

Once you have used one and see how it looks, how well its made and works, ~everything else is swap-meet bait. Slowtwitch can set you up with a longer throttle cable, the "kit" is from the gas pedal back, all teflon lined sheathed cables IIRC.

Having said all that, for a near stock motor pushing a shed, for about what the manifolds/air cleaners and decent linkage run (not even the carbs) you can get a Microsquirt with harness, and just use your LJet manifolds etc, although eventually you will want to go with fully programmable ignition, as that's where the biggest gains can be found. (along with programmable fuel of course) The Microsquirt can do all that.

It won't look or sound quite as cool as a set of Webers, but it will run better, more efficiently and more reliably with EFI/no distributor.

The factory already did the hard part for you with the existing fuel system, although you really want to be replacing all the 35 year old fuel hose with multi-fuel hose, and probably all the vacuum hose/PCV stuff, esp up front at the gas tank, several places sell a kit for the Vanagon front overflow tanks/PCV seals etc..
Addendum to Newtons first law:
zero vehicles on jackstands, square gets a fresh 090 and 1911, cabby gets a blower.
EZ3.6 Vanagon after that.(mounted, needs everything finished) then Creamsicle.

Having used Jake's old center pull (DTM upright linkage) and the CB linkage, if I was to do stock cooled I would look at the CSP bell crank linkage. But the downside is the lack of a good air cleaner for IDFs.

Yeah some may call it overkill, but you can't have too much overkill.

No longer a problem.
:D

Apparently someone is making excellent synthetic dry media air cleaners for Webers, as the off-road guys would destroy their rings in 15 minutes with oiled gauze filters (as many have discovered)
.

THESE ARE STD SIZE AND WILL FIT CB AIR CLEANER BASES/TOPS
I'd merrily pay for a decent, cleanable air filter for Webers.

They may sell a smaller "pod" version too, many uses.
