advise and quality of type 4 parts from current vendors?
i have my 1.7 engine stripped cleaned and ready for the next phase. i originally wanted to keep it 1.7 a great set of heads and a turbo, then maybe supercharger instead of the turbo. then after seeing all the parts available for the t4 maybe just a larger cc N/A. when i say N/A i have an autronic sm4 ecu kit to run it on.
its going in a 356 which i'm currently building so the cars weighs the same as an empty shoebox
so, any advice on parts from the vendors advertising?
just for the record money is an issue, if i had lots of it i would just get someone else to build it but it's cheaper if i do it.
thanks in advance neil

Welcome to the STF!
Where are you?
(answer will effect recommended vendors, UK vs. USA vs. Oz etc)

Addendum to Newtons first law:
zero vehicles on jackstands, square gets a fresh 090 and 1911, cabby gets a blower.
EZ3.6 Vanagon after that.(mounted, needs everything finished) then Creamsicle.

On bearings;
In my opinion, Silverline mains are the best new bearings I have seen. The OD of new Mahle and KS seem to be a little small, and the slight reduction in bearing crush makes me nervous.
As for cam bearings, I really like NOS Metel Leve bearings. They are unique in that they have an internal oil groove. Does it really help lubrication any? I don't know, but I like the idea of it. Never seen any other T4 cam bearings...or T1 cam bearings for that mater that have internal oil grooves.
