I cant seem to find much info on rod length info.
im not new to building performance engines, but new to VW

Never built a stroker before, for any engine manufacturer.

A big t1 in a 914 would work with a low profile cooling system, should work even though a T1 is down about 30% on head cooling fin area from a T4, with a 911 fan, good engine compartment sealing tin and built properly it should work OK.

I once considered a boosted WBX, as it would also bolt in and has a 228mm flywheel (which works fine in a 901 trans) , with a motorcycle radiator in a modded 911 fan housing for primary cooling, hot air ducted out, with another small front mounted rad in a repro 914/6 oil cooler setup.
(the goal being not to cut up a Creamsicle needlessly)

A 80mm WBX crank all T4 mains setup with a t4 flywheel is doable in either one of those cases, and nets you BMW steel backed main bearing shells.. probably the strongest bottom end you can build short of an actual T4..

The biggest issue would most likely be the full custom exhaust or perhaps engine mounts, no one makes a 914 exhaust for a t1, the mounts might be easy to adapt to the 914/ crossbar front mount.

But this is absolutely the wrong forum for big T1 engine advise, I'd probably hit the STF VW speed and drag racing forum for T1 stroker//build advice.

If you decide to put it in your 914 we may be of some help.
Addendum to Newtons first law:
zero vehicles on jackstands, square gets a fresh 090 and 1911, cabby gets a blower.
EZ3.6 Vanagon after that.(mounted, needs everything finished) then Creamsicle.
