I have a buddy with a NIB SVDA distributor he's willing to let me have for practically nothing. He says it was for one of his T1 engines that went electronic.
Will one of these readily available SVDA distributors for the T1 engines also fit on a T4 engine?
SVDA Distributor, will it fit on a T4?

Direct swap.
Drop a compufire in it and a good coil (and ballast if it requires one, many do, includes many alleged "Bosch Blue" coils) and you should be good to go.
If you need plug wires, I strongly recommend the spiral wound Magnecor setups, OReallys and Autozone have house-rebranded ones// Rock Auto all flogs flogs them for a Vanagon, the cap is different (uses late style threaded pins like the plug ends) but Vanagon cap simply clips on, best if used with a late model lowz "transistorized ignition" coil and ballast or external Bosch driver.

Addendum to Newtons first law:
zero vehicles on jackstands, square gets a fresh 090 and 1911, cabby gets a blower.
EZ3.6 Vanagon after that.(mounted, needs everything finished) then Creamsicle.
